HURRAY!!!.....On the 10th of August, 2011 in South Africa. Momas' ECMI Smart metering application was STS certified...which made us the first fully African indigenous SMART metering manufacturer with STS certified management system in Nigeria West Africa. Also the First fully indigenous metering manufacturing company in west Africa to be STS certified.
 
 

 
   
 
On Monday 3rd of May, 2010
Delegates from Federal Government’s Ministry of Power visited Eko Electricity Distribution Company Plc (Marina, Lagos) to inspect their newly installed 265 GPRS meters for “STATISTCAL METERING PROJECT” setup and commissioned by Momas Systems Nig. Ltd.
 
   
 
“This new technology is the first of its kind in Nigeria, the beauty of this new system is that we don’t have to go there to read the meters we sit here in our office and ask our system to read all the 265 meters and the meter are red the report produced” said Engr. Ayo Obilomo (C.E.O. Eko Zone). The GPRS-enabled MD (maximum demand) meter is deployed for this project. The meter can be remotely wake-up and put online anytime any day from BCS (base computer station) for data acquisition on a particular transformer, these eliminate the old system of going to the meter in every location to read the data on them. click here to read more about our GPRS meter.

Momas Hosted the Physics and Physics Engineering Department of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile –Ife, Osun State, on the 17th of December 2009 at its Head office in Bode Thomas, Lagos.
 
 
“ This is a day to remember as we saw things we have not seen before, and coming to think of it, here in Nigeria”- said one of the students. They were made to have a view into the MOMAS world. They Visited the System Integration Unit, Testing Laboratories, Meter Calibration Laboratory, and a site of the verse number of test our equipments.
 
 The MD, Engr. Kola Balogun, who had an encouraging chat with them, and sharing his experiences, encouraged them to think positive about Nigeria, and determine to make Nigeria Great. Addition to this , the MD donated a token to the department and offered an automatic employment to the best graduating student.
 
The President of the department, in his speech thanked the management of the company for the warm welcome and positive response of Momas Staffs.

(PHCN) Kano Electricity Distributions Company  Pre-Payment Metering Scheme (PPMS) gets under way in Kano, Jigawa and Kastina.
Momas has approximately deployed 35,000 Conlog Pre-Payment STS Meter to residential customers in Kano, Jigawa and Kastina respectively. They will receive advanced digital electric meters also enable them to reload their meter either with their phone by sending SMS or through our online website by using their ATM card, resulting in an upgrade from check meters.

Nigerian consumers welcome prepaid meters
Electricity consumers across Nigeria have hailed the introduction of prepaid meters by Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), claiming it has reduced the recurrence of estimated bills. A nationwide survey conducted by News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) showed that the prepaid meters were being used alongside the analogue as the meters had yet to be installed in all the states of the federation.

KPLC to expand prepay metering

Kenya Power & Lighting Company (KPLC) has concluded an agreement to expand its prepayment project to 25,000 customers, with the pilot phase of the project commencing in April.

Call to use ICTs to improve energy efficiency in Europe

With the potential to reduce carbon emissions in Europe by up to 15 percent by 2020, the European Commission, as part of its effort to combat climate change and drive economic recovery, has issued a call to member states and industry to use information and communications technologies (ICTs) to improve energy efficiency.
